that's kind of personal preference. but i usually run valvoline 10w-40 or in the winter i like 5w-40. that's just what i use though. im sure others will say differently

It depends on the outside temperature.
Above 60 degrees farenheit, I use 10-30
Below 60 degrees farenheit, I use 5-30
This is what is recommended by Jeep. I see no reason to vary from this recommendation.

I've found that once a motor gets high mileage, using a heavier oil works pretty well year 'round. I just use 10w40 in anything over 100,000 miles, and the manufacturer's recommendations for less than that.

0W30, 5W30, 10W30 and straight 30 are all the same 30 vis at operating temp. The lower the 1st number, the quicker the flow at all/any temps below operating temp.
