Mopar transfer case

My 94 has what looks like an np231 but the tag says mopar is this aftermarket does anyone know

it could be out of a dakota. does it not say 231 J

Beat me to it. I have one on my 98. PO told me it had been replaced under warrenty.

So there's nothing special about it I mean I thought it felt the same a my comanche as far as gearing

we can't tell without a picture. It may have come from a bone yard and the PO swapped it in. Or what is probably the case the PO had it replaced under warrenty and if your XJ came with the 231 then it will be the 231. I can't think I've ever heard a stealership changing out a different component under warrenty.
