Yes... took the cables off and cleaned them (didn't need it) Used the 200 amp setting on my charger and still didn't have power anywhere.

There is no main fuse. There is a strong likely hood that your cables are toast, even though the ends are clean.

Another possibility is your ignition switch.

I they are called fusible links they look just like a wire . when they go bad they burn up and the covering will sometimes hide that but if you pull on them they will stretch if good they do not stretch .

I'm pretty sure there are no fusible links in the 2000. This is what the FSM has to say:

All of the electrical current distributed throughout
this vehicle is directed through the standard equip-
ment Power Distribution Center (PDC) (Fig. 1). The
molded plastic PDC housing is located on the right
side of the engine compartment, just behind the bat-
tery. The PDC houses up to fourteen blade-type maxi
fuses, which replace all in-line fusible links. The PDC
also houses up to twelve blade-type mini fuses, and
up to eight International Standards Organization
(ISO) relays (four standard-type and four micro-type).

Pretty sure that green wire on the left is a fusible link.
From before I upgraded battery cables and used a mega fuse on my '00.
Does power flow both ways?
I don't really see a fusible link effecting it to the extent of no power whatsoever.
Fusible link from the alt to that post on the PDC. Another cable from there to the battery.
So wouldn't the battery still power the PDC?

Might be. Kinda looks like one. Can't say for sure from a picktoor. But the FSM says no, and we all know that factory manuals are always correct and never differ from what's actually happening on the production line, right?

Right.

Wherever it can.

Sure would. If that is a fusible link, blowing it would prevent the alt from charging the battery, but the battery would still be connected to the PDC, so it would eventually die.

Thanks for all the responses. Turned out to be a loose ground wire. All is well that ends well.
