I actually have a whistling noise too at high temps. People said it was the belt and they tightened it down but still makes that whine. I guess I may have a vacuum leak as well. Does anyone know the most popular places to check

Can of throttle body cleaner sprayed around the intake and it's hoses at an idle. When you hit a leak, you'll know it. Never hurts to snug up the intake manifold bolts as they are prone to backing off.

Replaced my CCV hose with a piece the guys at Napa matched up. You can also check the brake booster line

Replace them both and be done with it. Napa has them. Make sure the fitting on the intake manifold isn't all gunked up, too.

I thought the ccv was just to release extra pressure, does it really effect your idle? Cause I've been trying everything to get my 88 to quit stalling when I take off from stop signs and to idle right. I know this thread isn't about my problem and don't want to hijack it, but I figure it's the same topic why start a new one
