Default Loud noise in 1990 cherokee

Hey guys so my cherokee has been running great until a couple days ago. When I accelerate there's a loud whining sound and it rumbles. Any suggestions?

To diagnose sounds over the internet, is almost as difficult as trying to diagnose smells.
In order for us to help you, you will have to try and give us more info on the specific sound....like WHERE does the sounds appear to be comeng from, what area ? Does it get worse when you've been driving around, or does it improve? Has anything happened, like hit a hole in the road or something.
And what rumbles?

Whining sounds and rumbles..... Gotta hear it or have an idea where you think it is coming from.

Roler, why can't a car be a she? They require as much work as a boat and boats are shes, and I have had(been a part of) a few boats.

A boat can be a she, because it lays flat.....somebody else asked if huricanes can't be a she either, well yes, because huricanes suck...you see what I mean here?

Look, it has got no t#ts, and some people might drive their car like a p#*ssy , but that's a different story...

The whining sound is hard to pinpoint but it's only when I accelerate. As soon as I take my foot off the gas it's a lot quieter. The rumbling feels like it's coming from the back area and that happens when I'm in first just staring or gearing down. It's a 5 speed manual. Also I do a lot of 4x4ing with is so I know I'm not doing it any favours. It's a straight 6. I have recently replaced fuel pump and harness, CPS, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter.

Regarding the whining sound, could it be coming from the engine bay?
The rumble in the back: did you check around and under your rear end to see if anything is loose. Get your hands on everything...it didnt start after the fuelpump replacement, did it?

I'm gonna prescribe a good dose of "noggin pokin".

Slide under the Jeep with a flashlight and look at your u-joints, pinion yokes etc and see if anything is loose.

When is the last time you greased your Jeep?

Last time you checked the diff and transfer case fluids for proper level and condition?

The whining could be coming from the engine like I said it's very hard to pinpoint I'll work on getting a location. As for greasing and checking fluids now that I think about it it's been a while so I'll do that and I'll check for anything loose. Thanks everyone

But always remember these words of wisdom:

"A ship is always referred to as 'she' because it costs so much to keep one in paint and powder." Chester W. Nimitz

With the way we argue with our Jeep problems powder may be needed sometimes...LOL

I greased up all the points I could find and checked around for anything loose but couldn't find anything. When I went to drive it it felt as if I had the park break on and it didn't want to reverse or drive. Managed to get it out and back on to my driveway but I didn't want to damage anything by driving too far. I think there's something wrong with my driveshaft any suggestions on that?
