Looking for advice: replace rusted mounts or entire axle assembly?
Hi all. Looking for some advice on how I should proceed here.
I have a '98 XJ 4x4 with a stock D30 front axle. Unfortunately, most of the mounts/brackets are severely rusted (both track bar brackets, coil spring mounts, control arm brackets, and knuckles on both sides). The rest of the axle is just minor surface rust.
Would it make sense to replace all of these mounts/brackets and attempt to salvage the remaining good portion of the axle assembly, or would it be more cost effective and easier to just bolt in an entirely new (used) axle assembly?
I don't trust my welding skills enough to weld on suspension brackets like this so I'd have to pay someone to do it. I'm not really looking to upgrade to a beefier axle since I only do light wheeling; I'm just looking for the most cost effective way to make it safe in stock form.
If an entirely new axle assembly would be less expensive it seems like it would be a fairly straightforward bolt in process. Would that be a correct assumption? And the best place to acquire it? (eBay, Craigslist, junkyard, any other online source?)
Any advice appreciated.

Used D30's are very reasonable in cost and craigslist is usually the cheapest to find one or a complete 97-up XJ for a parts only unit as more mounts will be needed that are on the frame. Plus its always a good idea to have one handy when you need more parts and cheaper, handier if you have what you need instead of shopping around for every small item. So buy as close to what have if possible.
