The people that are having issues are the one's without a proper wiring harness (with relays) or a cheap hid kit...or both
You should not run ballasts off your stock wiring...period. It can barely handle the load from the stock headlights.

i agree running relays is the way to go with aj"s kit once he put the relays on not only did they warm up faster but they dont drop out anymore my personal feeling is if your gonna do HIDs then do em right and dont go cheap. Cuz your gonna end up spending more money trying to get them working and there still gonna suck

HIDs use 35W for normal sets and 55W for the extra bright. Hardly a danger to normal wiring.

It requires about 25,000 volts to for the ballast to ignite the bulb. After that it drops to a voltage less than that needed to power a Halogen bulb.
It's the initial startup that the stock wiring can't handle.
This is typically why people have problems with the cheap ebay kits. There cheap because the components are Chinese crap and they don't come with a harness.
Once again, you always get what you pay for.

That is why there is a ballast, to convert the 12v into the 25,000v. Has nothing to do with the wiring 12v supplied. 12v in 25,000v out and very low amperage. I sent back the cheap ones from my original posting. I got some from a German manufacturer and I love them. These still don't produce a usable high beem, but the HID side is superb. I'll try to get some images posted soon.
