Just wrap it in some silicone tape and call it good. That stuff is good enough to use on fighter jet wiring harnesses. Has to be good enough for an XJ harness.

Im sure its called different names as well.
I called it F4 tape in the Air Force.... not 100% sure of the origin of that name. But I've heard 2 stories 1) It was used to hold the F4 fighter jet together during the Vietnam war, and 2) its strong enough to withstand F4 tornado winds.... so either story you like, its good stuff!!!

Just pull it nice and tight when you wrap it around and over lap it by 50%. It'll stick to itself and fuse together. A lot of times there is a line running down the center of the tape to show you the middle and you just line it up and wrap...

That is fine for part of it but each end is a plug of sorts that fits tightly in the hole in the hatch and the body.
If that part is shot it is a potential leak point. RTV might do the trick there.

I don't think so. I think it is one of the parts in the illustration here.

https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/part...ch_hinges.html

I Googled all the part numbers I thought it might be and came up emtpy.
