Default Left blinker makes 4 turn on

When I put my left blinker on apparently my friends tell me my 4 ways turn on. But inside the jeep only the left arrow is blinking. Explanations / solutions please??

From Joe Peters and well stated. Sounds harsh but just makes sense:
"Let’s play a game.

You pretend that you are the only one that knows what year/engine/model, etc that you are asking about.

We will all pretend you never asked a question until you provide at least the bare minimum of information about your vehicle".

I wold verify myself if I were you. Are ALL the lights flashing? Just the fronts? Report back your findings.

Yes I have. After a few different people told me ( in the same night) I looked at if myself while I was driving at night and both blinkers in the rear blink. This doesn't happen constantly while the left signal is on it is intermittent

What's been done to your rig recently?

Have you replaced any bulbs?

Haven't replaced or touched anything. I actually just got pulled over for it the other day. My pops said it may be a bulb beginning to go bad and the short is causing both blinkers to blink. Either that it it's a problem with the trailer connecter?

Well my 4 ways only turn on my left blinker. If we put the two jeeps together we might have one that works

Sounds like your Jeep needs a good dose of "noggin pokin'".

Time to poke your noggin into places like bulb sockets, bulbs, trailer harnesses etc.

Studies have shown that more automotive electrical problems are fixed with noggin pokin' than with a keyboard and monitor.

I had the same problem in a 1973 mini cooper. The previous owner had put a single filament bulb in the driver front blinker instead of a dual filament. The wrong bulb was bridging the contacts to the running light circuit, so when you put the left blinker on all of the amber lights would come on.

Or maybe just check all of your turn signal sockets for any debris that might be giving you the same effect.

Click the 4ways on and off with that crappy slide switch, and see if it works, also jiggle it around to make sure it's fully disengaged, mine has gotten kind of weird and if its not in just the right position it has made some odd happenings between the blinkers and hazards, including them not working at all.

So in the front, your blinkers work correctly? The source of your issue could be 1) Trailer harness 2) Multiswitch.

Are you running standard incandescent bulbs or have you changed any of them to LED?
