Default knocking

I have developed a knocking sound between 900 -1400rpm. This noise happens in drive, park, and neutral.
I'm thinking maybe rod noise and I should just put some heavier oil in.

Ideas?

Thank you

Could also be lose flexplate.. you should diagnose the issue, then decide what to do.

Just checked them. 3 of four were finger tight. Tightened them down to 55 ft lbs and bam no noise. Thank you

I think that's the first time anyone's knocking/ticking was solved by the loose flex plate bolts. Or at least the first time anyone has said that was the issue...

i had a 98 xj with knocking noise and it was cured by tightening the bolts.
