I will be driving down the road in my 96 Cherokee and all the sudden the jeep just like shuts off. I know it has to be ignition. I already replaced crank sensor. It died earlier and took a while to start back up. Need suggestions. I have a new coil to put in it. Does anyone think it could be the pick-up coil in distributor? Thanks in advance.

1. Put that new coil on. It is the #2 suspect for thermal failure (heat related failure) of ignition
2. Camshaft position sensor (pickup coil) is an outside chance (inside the distributor) They can be tested and I would do that before replacing.
3. ASD relay inside the PDC (power distribution center) under the hood is another possibility of the above doesn't check out. Swap the ASD relay with a non-critical relay like the e-fan and see if that makes a difference. If it does, then you know what relay to replace.
