Ok guys Im stuck here. I have a transfer case drop kit that I need to install and I have no idea how to get those studs out of the crossmember. I know a lot of people have done this and I just need some detailed instructions on how to get the things out of there. Ive googled for write ups and the only ones I found the guys wound up cutting or heating. I cant do that(lack of tools). So what do I need to do. Please help

I used vise grips. Some times putting the nut back on and then putting a 2nd nut on top of that one to make it like a locking nut. then you put a wrench onthe first nut and twist it off. But I got away with vise grips on mine.
I doubt i have dealt with anything that tight but hit it up with wd-40 or PJB couple times a day for a couple days than do it up. I've talked a machnic with 20+ yrs experience and he said for tricky bolts do that and work back and forth. I.E loosen, tighten, back and forth till it's free enough to get all the way out. hope that helps

any auto parts store that loans parts will have a stud puller kit. its just a set of sockets with roller bearings inside of them. you slide it over the stud and turn to loosen them the bearings will tighten around the stud and it will come out like any other bolt.

loaner kit was only helpful to get it started. Stripped the bejeasus out of it. What wound up working was starting with the stud remover and finishing with vise grips. But had to be the ones that tighten with the allen wrench I found out. So i went out and got a new set of vise grips and three hours later found out that rusty sent me a drop kit that had holes to close to each other...

for my buddy's rig we used universal sway bar link bushings from autozone. the poly style that are about an inch tall with some grade 8 bolts from lowes. the package of bushings comes with 8 so we put the other 4 on his links. about $20

i just cut them off and drilled/tapped one beside it. soon i'm gonna notch the side of the frame and slide a nut on top, but so far it works fine. as a matter of fact, i'll probably just get a SYE soon.

Can someone tell me what size the bolts were and how many are needed to do this install? I want to get some spacers and bolts but, aren't sure what size bolts to get.
Thanks
