1. Load test the battery. Any parts store will do this for you for free. One of the most common symptoms of a marginal battery is stalling. And yes, you can have a battery that is strong enough to start the engine, but marginal enough so that it doesn't want to stay running.

2. How about the other tuneup parts? Plug wires, distributor cap and rotor and finish that tuneup you started.

3. Cleaning of the idle air control and throttle body is easy and the cost is a can of throttle body cleaner. These things get carboned up over time and miles

Great, but you still need to load test the battery. This forum and others are littered with threads about stalling due to a marginal battery. Start there.

just an update. there was no antifreeze in the radiator or motor just had antifreeze in the overflow so i thought it was full. so it was overheating (my temp gauge does work) got antifreeze in the whole system and works good now idle is still kind of low but no stall problems

It's your idle air control motor failing, you can clean it all you want, but if it's bad and sticking in the closed position, the engine is gonna die.
