I made a double take on the title of this thread and rolled laughin when I realized what it was. haha love the spirit of you guys, another reason i love my XJ- knowing other people love it as much as I do(and more i'm sure) and are there to help the rest of us out too.
'86 with just under 250k, takes a beating and keeps on rolling. I had little mechanical experience before owning this and its been a great project to learn on as i go. couldn't ask for anything better and wouldn't change my $800(before upgrades) decision for anything.

Just got my '96, 160k. Needs some fluid changes, shocks, some suspension bits, windshield. I think it's a keeper, though, so I'm not going to shy away from dumping a little money into it to extend the life.
One of the main reasons Chrysler bought AMC was for the 4-wheel drive division little they know over 2 million x-js were made its #10 on hard vehicles to kill list which includes cars on 2nd. one now 2000. One thing for sure living in Pa. I CAN AND DO go in the snow and no more digging out my parking spot when it does. # 1 on the fun to drive list drove over 100k on both

holy crap i been to the moon and back!!!lol All ive done is regular maintinance and drove her every day. The biggest problem i had was misire and no power. After replacing every sensor and a tune up it turned out to be a 15 cent hose clamp on the pick up tube for the fuel pump. ...

Awesome thread guys! Mine is my DD and it has been gettin' me everywhere I need to go without any issues! Jeep dependability is second to none!
I took a 96 Sport that had been sitting for over a year with a bad brake line. replaced the brake line and the front pads and rotors, charged the battery over night and did a oil change. then my girlfriend drove from central ct to central fla 0 issues. I'm impressed.
