jeep cranks and hicups while cranking????

ok after i installed the new ICM it ran fine but still chugged...
i disconnected the battery and touch the - and + together for a bit...
connected it and started the truck... runs PERFECT and idles fine.
did the computer need to relearn for the new ICM???
truck has been driving perfect the last 2 days.
