Default Jeep Cherokee Sport Problem!!!HELP!

so my 1999 jeep cherokee sport 4.0 straight 6 was running fine as a dime then i did an oil change on it. and all of a sudden i got random misfires and fixed that but now the jeep has a really weird knocking noise coming from the top end of the engine and when i hit like 40 mph it starts to putter really bad. but then randomly the oil pressure gauge will shoot up to about 60 and will run fine then randomly drop down to 40 and below and then start puttering bad..anyone know of what this could be. ever had the same problem and found the fix...anything i need to know!!!

thanks!

have you checked your oil level lately? I'd make sure it's in the safe zone. Next, check to see if anything might be leaking (if you are lower on oil than you should be). If you aren't leaking, and your oil is at a good level, I have no clue. I've never heard of this problem occuring from an oil change.

you could also look around to make sure you didn't knock apart any wires or vacuum lines when you were undoing your oil filter....or maybe your oil pump is starting to fail???
