Hey I am new to this forum and I have a real quick question. Is it normal for my jeep to lose coolant when i use the ac?

I dunno. Your elec fan should come on when running AC. If it does not you made run hotter running AC hence forth maybe creating more pressure and causing maybe a leak somewhere. Radiator cap???
Just a thought

My radiator hoses are old and I have already ordered those as well as a new thermostat because my jeep overheats in this tennessee weather. After i drive the car while using ac and check under the hood, I smell this weird smell. Don't know if it coolant or what?

It does smell sort of sweet. I am going to post of pic of the jeep engine in a little bit because i have the weird yellow stuff around the hoses. I also notice that when i turn of the car after using ac the engine is hotter. I guess the electric fan only turns on sometimes? Because i can't hear it in my cabin while i am driving.

The electric fan should come on at about 217 degrees.
You need to perform a comprehensive search for any leaks and replace any suspect components.
And you should always review status of all cooling system components periodically. Radiator, radiator cap, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, hoses.
Don't try to economize on cooling system maintenance. It's pay me now, or pay me a lot MORE later, especially with the 00-01 XJ, which has the 0331 cylinder head from the factory, which has a casting defect between cylinders 3 and 4, which leads to a nasty habit of that head cracking upon an engine overheat. Then you've got much bigger fish to fry.

I know about the 0331 defect. I have checked the date the jeep was made and i did not get a bad batch of cast iron so my jeep will be fine. I went ahead and checked for a cracked head and its fine. I am not willing to spend thousands of $ to fix the cooling system. Might just trade the jeep in and buy an F-150
And rebuilding your cooling system doesn't cost thousands of dollars.....WTF??
We're just trying to help here....you may want to consider our experience with this issue, but do what you like.

The XJ cooling system can be completely replaced (including the radiator) for $250.....can that be said for a F-150? They both can be neglected for free. LOL
