Default Injector gains?

New to the Jeep community. I am going to be buying a Cherokee once I get healed up from a motorcycle accident. So I have been poking around of mods to do to the jeep once I get it. What are the actual MPG gains everyone is seeing from doing the injector upgrades. I ask this because one of the reasons I am buying a Cherokee is to get better gas mileage then my truck since the wife is a little sensitive about me buying another bike to commute with.
Thanks

If you're looking for MPGs, don't buy an XJ honestly. Especially if you're going to want to mod it. Stock, you'll get 20 TOPS. Most people are in the 14-18 range.

Injector upgrades won't give you much of a gain, unless your stock injectors are old and not cleaned regularly with fuel treatment of some kind. I personally saw no MPG gain from them at all. All I got was a tad better idle and a little OOMPH from the pedal. Then again, I also run fuel treatment pretty regularly. I like my baby running as nicely as possible.

I saw a 1 mpg gain with upgraded injectors. I wouldn't expect much more than that, the injector upgrade really only helps idle and throttle response.

I'm not looking for hybrid gas mileage. my truck gets 10 now so anything is better then what I have. Was just wondering what the gains were and if it was "cost effective". If I get between 15-20 that would be great.

If you leave it stock, you'll get that mileage if everything is running correctly. Chances are, you're going to need to give a bit of TLC to any XJ you buy right off the bat. Like a tune up, filters, fluids, etc. etc. But after all that, you should get 15 or more if all is well under the hood.

Like I said, an injector upgrade will really only give you an MPG benefit if the factory injectors are old and gunked up and not cleaned regularly with fuel treatment. Honestly, if and when you get an XJ, run a can of BG44K through the gas tank and be done with it. I wouldn't worry about upgrading your injectors unless you're getting misfires and injectors is causing it.

I wish that thread kept going. Would have been interesting to see all the stats added up from many people.
