Idle Smoke...
Hey guys, Im new to the jeep world and new to the forum. I just bought a 94 Cherokee with 233,000 mi on the clock. It is just a beater thats gonna be used to drive to work. It seems to run great and sounds fine, but I am getting blue smoke at warm idle. While in motion I cant see any smoke, or nothing thats noticable. I checked for blowby and didnt see anything out of the ordinary. I was just wondering if anybody has input on this as to what it could be. I have cleaned the ccv and now I dont know where to turn. Any help is greatly appreciated...

Valve stem seals are probably shot. they can be replaced without removing the head. I did the ones on my wife's Jeep and it now not only doesn't smoke but uses no oil between changes at around 200K.

Mine does the exact same thing... when idling or going real slow (off road, whatever) it puffs some blue. It's the valve stem seals, no biggie.

I second that.
I have to do the same thing on mine.
No more than it's going to cost I'm going to pull the head, have it reworked and replace the head gasket.
You can get a head set that includes valve stem seals and a head gasket for 50 bucks and usually a shop can do a head job for around 100 bucks.

Thanks, I don't have a dealer really close to me so I was thinking about getting some fel pro's from advance auto but they have several different part numbers for them and I'm unsure of what I need...

I kinda remember that, too. And IIRC, they're all the same. What's up with that? Felpro would be good bTW.
