Question i6 poor mpg

so i was dinkin round offroad in my 89 and after hittin a few bumps my jeep stopped idling i also wentinto a few water holes. after this it stutters and sounds like its mis firing when i give it gas but if i floor it its fine but blows black smolke i can smell im runnin very rich. i just cant figure out y. on a full tank of gas i got 75 miles.. i need help tell me where to start

Remove and clean the inside of your distributor cap. Sounds like you may have gotten some water in your ignition system.

mine is doing the exact same thing. its from water in places it shoouldnt be. i got a new dist cap and wires and ran some stuff that you dump in your gas to get rid of all moiture in gas and engine... after all that myine is runnin like a champ.

i need help readjusted tps and cleaned out cap runs better but still burnin gas bad!

check for vacuum leaks...pull all sensor connectors and check for water...

so i checked over everything and then randomly i unplugged the porcelin resistor box thats bolted to the driver side fender well and it idle perfect didnt have a studder or anything but obviously wont rev up for whatever reason that box is uused for. i went to a buddys jeep and took his box which is a known working one and it didnt change a thing?? what can it be?
