Exclamation I REALLLLLLLLLLYYYYYY need HELP with my xj!!

Okay, so i have a 92 Cherokee Laredo 2wd, my motor runs strong, the problem is my rear end took a ****, well when my boyfriend and his best friend were replacing it they had gotten to the last shackle bolt and it had snapped on the inside of the body. so I go looking for a 4wd shell, found the excat same jeep with no rust, 4wd obviously, and most of the miles on it are towing miles, because an older couple pulled it behind their rv. I learned this information from the jit i bought the jeep from. so because I bought a shell I had AAA towe it home, well the kid i bought the jeep from waited until we were putting the last tire on it and the towe truck guy had already backed up to it to tell us that he couldn't get the title right away, asks us to come back the next friday. long story short he cant get the title. now I'm not sure if the law differs from state to state but here in fl you have to have a signed title to put that vehicle in your name and have a tag on it. so basically i have these two jeeps that i have all the components to make a full jeep, me and my boyfriend just aren't sure how to go about it. I'm going to list the problems with each jeep and hopefully some one can help??... i was kind of wondering if theres a way to strip it down to just the frame and swap the body then do a 4wd swap because I can't just do an engine swap because I don't have a ttitle. and a vin swap is illegal.

4wd jeep:
no title
no keys
engine is ****

2wd jeep:
rear end is ****
body is rusted to hell
transmission went out when the rear end did
gas leak somewhere

Xj's are unibody there is no way to separate the frame from the body as it is one. It's a tough spot to be in. The only real option, if you can't file for a lost title, is to find one with a clear title provided yours is too far gone, rust and rear damage wise.

Can't you get a new title made? Here in OH a duplicate title is less than $50.

I don't know about there, but in Az by law everyone has the right to get their money back within 15 days. No questions asked or needed, they just have to do it by law. And these things are why they made it a law.

Hopefully, for the OP's sake it's just a question of the seller just losing the title and they can just get a duplicate and figure it out.

Everything and anything nonperishable purchased. Even a new car on contract. Within 15 days they have to tear it up and give you your money back. I'm not sure but it might even include real estate. It greatly helps prevent these type of things from even happening in the first place.

But if you sell something, don't spend the money until after those 15 days cause you might have to give it back.

I think it has to be in the same condition as when it was sold.

ok cause I was gonna say that's pretty dumb if so hahah....But either way I'm not sure I agree with that law...If you screw up and make a bad purchase, that's your fault hahah..this law is basically like the tool rental programs at parts stores...pay the full price up front, use the vehicle or whatever you want for 15 days, go on that 2 week road trip without putting miles on your vehicle or having to actually pay for a rental, and then just take the vehicle back to the owner and get all your money back haha....unless I'm just not fully understanding it, seems bad to me haha

What it does it put the brakes on the final sale until it can be resolved. Kind of like an escrow. Like in this ladies case by law she could have forced him to produce the title or not, and if not take it back and he would have to give the money back or face litigation which he would lose in this case . I have heard of very few conflicts though because it makes people play fair on both sides of the agreement before the deal is made.
