Default I have a coffee maker underneath my hood.

I just noticed the sound last night, but it literally sounds like there's a coffee maker underneath the hood of my XJ. You know, the old school ones that made a humming/vibrating sound followed by the coffee actually coming down into the pot?

I thought it might be a motor mount but am not sure?

...I'm at my wits end right now. I realize that after lifting the Jeep and putting larger tires would result in the suspension parts probably taking more of a beating (U-Joint, SYE, etc.) but I'm just struggling. Since I've had the Jeep, I've replaced one part every other week. First the brakes, then the Alternator, then the U-Joints... I realize this is a bit of a rant, I'm just frustrated. I love my Jeep more than I've loved any other vehicle I've owned. I just wish it'd stop breaking!

Help? Thanks fellas and ladies.

EDIT: Figured out what it was. Thanks!

It wasnt completly disengaging from the flywheel and it sounded like either a coffee grinder or pop corn popper from hell

And the best part of my starter story is how I found it. I was trying to track the horrid rattle down and got fed up and cracked the starter with a wrench out of anger and the noise quit for a few minutes.

It was my exhaust. I cut the exhaust so that it stops just under the rear doors. I didn't notice a problem with it at first, but as the exhaust has begun to sag a little, it begun to hit and rattle against my t-case cover. I'm going to get it fixed shortly. It's pretty cool... NOT.
