Yeah, it's well worth the little bit of work for the second under hood light.

No prob man... just a suggestion for the fogs though (I've had those same ones)... mounting them down low like that is great, mounting them farther apart (say 12-18") will make them more effective in fog conditions.

Yup I know that, but I don't think they will last very long... so it's temp.
I mocked them up with a wide stance but they looked like a$$. and the light projected on the wall (25') was only slightly better.
I just wanted them mounted and out of the way. lol

I did find the vacuum leak next to the battery.
So I went to 4 stores and 3 shops trying to find a replacement with no luck.
While I walking out of the second to last place, it hit me. I'll fix it.

the one pictured here is the orginal one that came out of the XJ. It broke completely but no biggie, I have another from a junk yard. It's got a little hole and in much better shape.

the fix:
I had clear shrink tubing for electrical work.
Slide that over the area that has the hole.
heated it up, watched as it sealed it up.
installed the repaired hose.
Couldn't have been any easier. except all the driving.

I wish I had taken a pic of the fixed one, but soon as I remembered it started to pour.

The great unexpected side effects...
The cruise control is 100%. before it would hold the speed only on flat roads and slow on up hills. Now it's locked in to the mph I set.
also the brake pedal is nice hard, with more stopping power. I guess vacuum assisted.
And of course the a/c does not randomly kick up to the defogger vents, stays where it's dialed to.

So, easy and now even more of a pleasure to drive.

The Tstat was replaced at autozone again today, but the girl noticed I had been given the wrong one twice and promptly handed me the correct one for free. No more leaks and due to the correct pressure in the coolant system it's running even cooler! 195-197 OMG, what a relief.
And just to make sure everything was 99.99% I flushed the system 3 times and kept the hose flowing in it for an hour. The first dump had very small amount of stuff in it. and rest of the flushing was for good measure.
Filled it back up with prestone 50/50 and DONE!

At 9:am the Jeep is getting dropped off for the BDS lift kit. I'll have it back Friday in the afternoon.

and while all this has been going on, I've been polishing the paint.
I was asked at the oil change place if I had repainted one side... LOL
Yeah, there's that big of a difference. (I'm 20+ years experienced Detailer)

Sweet man, I'll have to remember that fix, I looooove heat shrink tubing. I used a little bit of it to isolate the mounting stud for my cb antenna onto my tail light mount.

And yes, Jeep brakes (all models as far as I'm aware) are vacuum assisted.

I also ordered more goodies from the www But I'm not going to tell!
Both you and I will have to wait so I can take pictures... and that won't happen for a few days, maybe even mid-next week.
Nothing crazy, just three small things.

lol... the way you worded that made it sound like I'm your only subscriber. Go ahead, hold me in suspense - now don't get disappointed, but it's going to pale in comparison to what I have coming to me in less than a month.
