Thanks I just use that Gunk brand engine cleaner that you can buy anywhere.

It's a 92 and has 180,000 miles on it. It was a little grimy when first purchase, but not terrible considering the mileage. Just cleaned it up with some of the engine degreaser and a brush. It's a lot easier if you start with a motor that isn't all caked with stuff to begin with, then keep after it once cleaned up.

I like doing mechanical stuff, but hate working on a greasy oily motor so that's my motivator. Everything I have looks like this one.

Trust me when I say...........there are a couple guys on here that have show quality motors and put this one to shame.

no, I didn't take mine off they just fought me when I was trying to get it down all the way. I will try it with the cables in place next time, cuz I will be back in there again soon I'm sure. I hate wasting time when I could have just dove right in.

Don't get me wrong, it's easy enough just to get them out of the way,, lol.

old post but just curious used the perma dry felpro gasket and the plastic grommets that came with it. Should I upgrade to the ones that I assume came stock with the metal washer inside? The old metal ones were shot.
