Default How long can rear main seal leak go on?

Recently replaced valve cover gasket with the good fel-pro part. No oil leaks from valve cover, head is dry down to head gasket.

Oil seepage from head gasket, from about between cylinder 2/3 back.

And rear of oil pan I see oil leakage above drain plug.

Head seepage seems common per comments from earlier post about it.

If I have a rear main leak, is there any urgency at all to fix?

Yeah, slight weeping along the passenger side head gasket is common. No rush on the rear main. I assume you've ruled out the oil filter adapter area a the source too. Typically that drips on the starter too.

It's when it stops dripping that you have to start worrying.

Looks like it's just head gasket seepage at this point. Cleaned everything down better with diluted Dawn, and after a couple days of daily driving, no oil at back of oil pan. Just seepage on passenger side of head/block seam.

I wonder if retorquing the head bolts might be of value here? I dont know if that is a recommended procedure or not here. On some non jeep engines that is done sometimes.
If that dont fix it, then a head gasket replacement may be needed.

Others somewhere said leave that alone because it's common. Doesn't seem to be an issue other than minor mess. Going to monitor and when the time comes, replace head gasket if there is a real issue.

Oil consumption has dropped drastically. Didn't notice any difference on dip stick in two fill ups. Before replacing valve cover gasket, I would have seen something and be looking at getting a quart for the next fill up or so.
