How do i test my fan clutch

Don't stick something in a spinning fan. Fan clutch performance slowly degrades over time/miles. If u don't know how old the fan clutch is, spendy the +/-$35 for a new one. I know nothing about beamers, other than that motor sounds like pistons r swapping holes, but I doubt even the beamer shop manual says stick something in a spinning fan to test the fan clutch.
