At the very least this will get someone to honk their horn which will negate the need to use yours at all!

A real answer now...

Horns keep constant power running to them... when u push the button on the column it grounds the system and the horn blows... unlike everything else that's grounded and u press a button and it sends power to it... so... check the wire at the horn and make sure it has power... with the key in the on position... if it does then its a ground problem in the horn button if no power to the horn then check fuses or run a new wire to it from the battery or something... be sure to include a fuse...

find the horn itself and make sure its plugged in.

Check the fuse

Use a multi meter on both of the contacts and have someone hit the horn in the jeep. If you get a reading then the horn itself it done.

If not, and the fuse is good you need to check the switch in the steering wheel with the same multi meter. never did it in my jeep, but other cars you just pull the cover and its right there

You can pull the horn button off and clean the contact points with a pencil eraser.... I'd say this is the most common problem and easiest fix....

I have a steering column from a wrangler (it tilts) so I installed a button on my dash which operates the horn. For me this was the easist way to go as I ran a power line from the horn button to the fuse block under the dash and the horn. This way I know where all the lines are and can trouble shoot faster if I had a problem. This might work for you as horns are cheap as are buttons and wire.

I had the same scenario on my 99, my horn switch was bad-$50 JY airbag/horn switch combo & back in business.

I'll take a pic a little later if you want but on older models you can grab the horn button in the middle of the steering wheel and pull it off easily. Once it's off you'll notice a metal ring with contact tabs sticking up. When you push the horn cap it pushes the contacts together for the horn to sound.... Sometimes they get corroded or dirty and just rubbing them good with an eraser fixes the problem. It's easy and self explanatory once you see it with the cap off.

The OP's is a '93 and this may work for him but is useless info for those of you with the newer style steering wheel....
