I like the look of these vents, what type are they? And also, with them being placed on the outside of the hood, isn't there a risk of getting water in the airbox or air intake if you have a cone filter?

Red face my answer

I used cardboard to make pattern from vents, then used perm marker to draw onto tape on hood. Measured maybe 8 - 10 times and broke out the Sabre saw with Metal blade FINE. They are held in place by 4 small bolts which are part of the vents.

Hope that helps ? Pics are here

Here ya go Fafafofi, like I said measure 3 times and cut once so you don't butcher the rear hood brace like I did.

I don't have a drip tray and don't know of anyone else running a tray under the vent.

If you think about the engine compartment is not a dry environment anyway. Every time you drive in the rain, water is splashed up into the engine bay.

True, but still wouldnt it help to have some protection for the wiring that would be more exposed with vents

I see your point with the amount of rain you do receive in Oregon. While we do see some heavy rains in TN, it is nothing like the northwest. This may be something you can design and post for others with this same concern.

I am thinking about adding some vents but I think I am going to go to the JY and get a spare hood to put the vents in. During winter I will put my stock hood on so not to worry about snow and don't really need extra cooling during the winter. then during summer or other times I need I will throw on the vented hood.
