Hood vents for Cherokees
This is a cheap way to vent some air out the back. But I would like to raise a possible safety issue with this. I haven't test this, but I wouldn't want to find out. When you raise the back of the hood up, there is nothing behind it to stop it if you get in a wreck. It will probably get pushed right through the windshield. As a former firefighter, I have seen stuff like this. It is nothing to loose your head over.

Yes, i did mention it. But every time someone brings it up I feel some responsibility to mention this. My opinion is this mod just shouldn't be done. Even if it does work.
I've tried to upload but they are larger than allowed....Feel free to email me direct at 95cherokee@sti.net with your email & I will be happy to send them to all who are interested.

I picked a couple of vents up at lowes for 2 bucks a peice and did the slice and dice in the rain. The ones I have on are aluminum but im going to be replacing them with steel ones. these vents dropped the temp about 40 degrees under the hood and my temp guage showed a 5 degree drop in traffic.. I dont have drip pans in them yet but amazingly not much water gets through them.
I love cheap DIY projects. The hood was pretty banged up anyhow and I plan on reepainting once i get the steel vents on. MY old girl was beaten up pretty badly by her former owners. Last one used her just for a yard mudder.
