Default Help please

I have a 98 xj. I just bought it. The vacuum lines lines were disconnected when i got it. I have since rehooked up all the lines. I have replaced throttle sensor. But i am having problems with it cutting out ( loses all power, it gun it, it kinda clears up) but not shutting off. Rough idle. Its very random when it does it. One day i drove about 28 miles with it acting fine, then two miles from home it started acting up again. It throws a code for torque converter solenoid circuit. But to me it doesn't feel like a transmission issue.

Did you clean the body of the throttle plate, too,Cor just replace the sensor? You could check the vacuum since all were disconnected maybe there is a leak somewhere. Did you get the hose connected to the fuel pressure relief valve at the end of the fuel rail?

Get a cheap OBD2 scanner (BAFX brand on amazon is around $23). So that you can see what your computer is thinking, and more importantly what the long and short term fuel trims are doing. If you are having a vacuum leak or failing O2 sensor, or a weak fuel pump, it will expose those things by showing that the fuel trims are out of whack.

Post the exact codes here.

Interpreting and choosing replacement parts via just a code is often unsuccessful. With OBD, the devil is definitely in the details. And proper troubleshooting/diagnosis.
