please help with heater problem please!
I have a 1996 jeep xj with the 4.0 I am new here I was part of another fourm but they never helped me out what so ever. My problem is my heater. My heater blows luke warm and that's it even when at running tep and with the snow fast on its was I would really like some help. I unhooked the smaller fan on the radiator idk if that could be it but the bearing was out please help if you can thanks.

Sounds like you need to start with a good coolant flush. Including the heater core. If that doesn't fix it check the t stat and get the stock temp if its bad (195). If that doesn't fix it look into a heater core. The heat system is very basic in regards to a lot of things. These are the places I would start and then see what comes up.

When you do the flush make sure to flush the heater core separately. Also make sure to flush it in both directions.

With the engine HOT find the 2 hoses leading behind the firewall that lead to the heatercore. Should be on the passenger side black hoses. Feel both top and bottom. Are they both hot?

1. You can flush only heater
2.You can have vacuum problem going to heater core valve.
Check heater hoses:
cool- core is clgged
hot- can be partially clogged.
heater door can be stuck in heater/evaporator core
vacuum problem to heater door

a shop blew heater core free of debris .. no core replace .. it got hot inside after that
was pennies compared to core swap, gettin another 1 done tomorrow
look into it
