Help with oil leak.
Ok well I was working on the jeep until about 1 am last night replacing the oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket. With everything going great I finish installing everything and go to bed. About 20 minutes ago i go add the oil and start her up, she runs a little rough but nothing that really worries me. I let her run until operating Temp is reached and shut her down and notice that oil is dripping from the rear of the engine ONLY when I shut it off...... WTF!?!?!?! I really need help on this one, I have already changed out the rear main seal and multiple pan gaskets. Anyone have any advice?

I did just this a few months ago. Started with oil pan, still leaked. I then did the oil filter adapter gaskets, still leaked. After that I found it to be the oil pan. I did rear main just in case.
Now no leaks. Most people say the oil filter adapter gaskets go fairly often. I got ithem at the dealership.
Good luck!

After the engine cools down and stops leaking for the moment, wipe everything down, start her up again and get down there and watch carefully to see exactly where it's coming from. Sounds like in your case, the oil filter adapter could be suspect. I had a leak coming from the drain plug once (seal went bad) so you never know, it could be that easy. But make sure to watch closely

Sorry i did not clarify earlier, its coming from the drivers side of the engine and looks to be running down and dripping from the center of the pan/trans. While its not a huge leak it does lose enough oil to concern me and to fail inspections. Also the tranny pan is getting cover in oil as well which could be from driving it or running down the bell housing.

not too hard, you just have to modify a torx bit and then fit it into that small space. I used a big breaker bar to finally get it loose. Just google it, that is how I found the procedure..
