Soo guys...
I got the exhaust and o2 sensor hooked up. I hear an exhaust leak though so I gotta check that out.
But, it does not want to run right.
Made it 50 yards and it was bucking like crazy and a couple backfires. Now, I forgot to adjust tps(will do that when I get home from work) that wouldn't cause this would it?
I'm still thinking timing issue.
When I get home I'm checking to make sure I got the plug wires right and other sensors right.
The way I did the timing was I got it to tdc, (with cruisers write up) then I turned the distributor shaft until it was at #1 cilinder. Then turned the oil pump so it would pop in and I got it.
I'm thinking that I did something wrong there.
Just wanna hear this thing purr lol

Plug wires are correct.
I'm gonna have to dig into the dizzy again.
Hey cruiser, what do you mean by "the distributor locating tab" I'm trying to index it but I'm having a hard time getting the part where you scratch 1/2" below the distributor locating tab

basically, you're removing the dizzy locating tabs so it can rotate.

Heres the problem with that, my dizzy doesn't have the hold down clamp. All it had are the "ears" that the bolt goes through to the block. So it I cut those off how will my dizzy be mounted? Lol

Alright, I cut a window in my old cap. Got the jeep to #1 tdc.
Then turned the oil pump slot so the dizzy would slip in. I got the rotor to have just gotten off #1 cilinder.
I thought in my head"yes this is it!"
But nope. Doesn't even want to start jut cranks and backfires...
So I'm al,ost positive I set the distributor right.
But it doesn't want to run now..
Help guys!

I got it purring!!!
Cut the mounting tab off the dizzy. Turned it till it was right, then bolted it up with a washer under the original bolt.

Who the hell took the clamp?

Sure you were on #1 TDC and not #6 TDC?

I cut the tabs off and indexed it. Used a large washer under the mounting bolt to hold the dizzy down. Only needed 1/4" turn on the dizzy but still had to cut em off. Glad I did though cause it was a piece of cake after that. I'll post pics up later of the engine in.
Thanks for all the help guys!
