But check out this gasket that came with the headers!

It hung over the head ports like 1/4 inch!
Luckily my motor came with a new gasket as well. This is the one that came with the motor compared to the pacesetter one

And here's the headers
For my gaskets, I ported my head a little, I take the gasket and just tighten the bolts of the manifold enough to get the port shape to imprint. I then remove the gasket and take my dremel and port match (open the gasket to the port size) the gasket to the motor.

Nice!
That's what I would have done if my new motor diddnt come with a good fitting gasket.

I do the same thing. Match port.

Not a Dremel. An air powered rotary tool with a special metal cutter.

Made progress yesterday and all day today.
Worked on it Sunday night from 7-11
And today from 10am-1am.
Got old motor out and new motor built 90%
Don't think it's going to go in smoothly with it being almost complete.
Who knows, it looks good though

Forgot to put the thrust spring in the cam bolt the first time around! 10 min later it was in and the cover was 're sealed with the harmonic balancer tourqed! I got good lol
One thing I'm not too sure about it priming my oil pump. Should I dissengage fuel and spark and crank it or should I turn it from the distributor hole with a drill?
Man this is fun guys!
Couldn't do it without CF!

Oh and I'm waiting on brown dog mounts still.
Also, Iv never heared or seen this before but I just put my throttle body and intake manifold in my dish washer on heavy wash for 160 min while I did more work to the engine. Cleaned it awesome and I diddnt have to bother with it!
My mom was pissed though!(I'm 18 lol)

Gonna try to get most of the motor in today. Hopefully the brown dogs show up so I can get it in and running.
Do y'all think the new motor came with a rear main installed?

IIRC I've heard 5-90 or someone talking about making a flat blade tool to prime with a drill. Of course it is, and can be done. Of the 1/2 dozen or so I've been into, I lube everything assembling, then crank it till I see oil up top. I suppose if I didn't know it just got oiled, I'd be more inclined to drive the pump with a drill.

That's probably what I'll do, I might cut a flat head screwdriver in half and just tourque the end of the drill around it.
