Help! 98 XJ having some weird problems post shop work
Hey Everone, I recently had the transmission codes P0758 (Solenoid B electrical) and P0700 (TCM). I brought it to a mechanic, who replaced my solenoids and (unrelated) my tie rods. He told me to grab the car and the engine light was still on. I drove the car and now there is very jerky shifting occurring with from first to second and now when I decelerate, my car will shake aggressively between 10mph to 0mph. The shaking will not happen in neutral and did not happen before. Other than taking the car directly back to the mechanic, does anyone have any recommendations or ideas on what could cause that shake? It feels like it is coming from the rear differential or drive shaft. Any answers would be helpful! thanks!

Yep. Take it back. And don't let them sell you more ****. It's not right, and you paid for it to be right.
Like exasemech, I was also an ASE mechanic. Don't let them take you for a ride, but don't yell at the service advisor. They don't know wtf they're talking about. They just repeat what the mechanic told them.
