Default Head replacement

My 2000 Cherokee has a cracked head. Whats my best/cheapest option? Buy a remanufactured have my old one machined etc... If you've bought a remanufactured any recommendations on where to buy one from? Thanks in advance.

1. If you haven't yet come across this thread, (below) do yourself a favor and read it start to finish. It has some very good information on dealing with a cracked 0331 cylinder head.

2. DO NOT PUT an 0331 head back on your engine, UNLESS it is one that is made by TUPY. Late in 2002 and 2003 and newer 0331 heads are TUPY heads and they are re-designed and are fine. You can tell if it is a TUPY head by checking between cylinders 3-4 for the TUPY marking.

3. Clearwater Cylinder Head and Alabama Cylinder Head are good vendors for a redesigned head. Both of these companies have helped many 00-01 owners.

Good luck!

Yes it is the head not the header. I knew there was a big problem with them.
Thanks for the help ordering the new one today.
