haha just wondering if you were going to explain this bearing that filters the oil through the exhaust...

A compression test will tell you how healthy your rings and seals are, that's the information you're looking for.

Ticking and knocking is usually due to worn engine parts... low oil pressure could cause this, but not necessarily. And as others have said, some ticking is completely normal, it's just what they do.
