Just drive it and enjoy years of reliable service. 15w40 may be too thick depending on the weather in your area, it takes longer for cold thick oil to flow to the bearings, you may be doing more harm than good. On the upside, the 15w40 is more for diesel engines and will have a bit more zinc in the oil. Zinc helps with decreasing wear to the flat tappets and cam in our Jeeps.

Some mornings in winter it will get low to mid teens and VERY VERY seldom it will be in single digits. What oil would be good I think right now it has 10-30w in it from the PO? Also what plugs do we run in these?

Also if it's to cold for 15-40w should I put anything else I there to help? I will be adding a bottle of Lucas every oil change.

change the filter every 3 to 5000 add a bottle or two of oil detergent add clean oil as needed full oil change at 10 to 15000. No sludge problem no oil pressure issues no overheating. OD rolled over 421000 last week, I have 286000 on this motor.

Low oil pressure is caused by two things, excessive bearing clearences, or something wrong at the oil pump pick up like a restriction or an air leak.
Wrong.

well partly, the oil pump does indeed reflect the oils pressure. If you've ever dealt with race engines (I build them) you'd know the 30 - 50 psi oil pressure a motor gets with a stock oil pump vs the same motor getting 50 - 100 psi with a high volume pump, is a common occourance with no other changes.

Yes, worn rings and bad cyl walls, along with worn bearing, will decrease oils pressure, along with changing viscositys etc.

Yes lucas is for more than just failing motors. I stand behind thier oil stabilizer, it works.

Would that oil be a good choice?

It's the extra volume of oil being pumped through the same area that creates the higher oil pressure over what the stock pump delivers. Not quite sure how worn piston rings and cylinder walls will cause lower oil pressure, they are not lubed by pressurized oil, only by splash.

change out the exhaust bearing and you will never have to change the oil again.
