I have a 1990 cherokee 4.0 renix and recently there's been a gas smell coming from the engine bay, but only when it's cold outside. Tried to recreate the problem today after I got home from school and I couldn't smell anything... It was about 70 degrees out. But on cold mornings when I'm not moving the smell can get pulled in through the heater and when I shut the engine off and get out there's a strong smell of gasoline. Think it might be something with evaporative emissions control but not completely sure... Anybody know?

Smells are very difficult for us to help you with. The best diagnostic tool is your nose.
Sniff around the evaporative emissions canister and other evap hardware, the fuel rail, every area inside of the engine bay.
You want to resolve ASAP for obvious reasons; gas vapors can turn into fires. Good luck and keep us updated!

Check the fuel injectors really good. The tops and bottoms of each individual one while running to see if they're leaking (where the top is in the fuel rail and bottom is in the engine)
The stock Renix injectors can also leak from the seperation of the plastic housing, since they were a very stupid two piece design. If they are stock injectors, even if they aren't the cause of the leak - they need to be changed asap for the (upgraded, and safer) Bosch type III 4-port injectors (or Volvo 746's if you can find them) - the stock Renix injectors ARE A FIRE HAZARD.
Also check the fuel line quick disconnects (front and back of fuel rail) to see if they're leaking (near the pressure regulator at the front, or the main fuel line at the back)

check your quick connector at the fuel rail and twist each injector to see if any of those leak. do this while it's running. this is how i determined my leaky injector on my 90 renix.
you can upgrade with some injectors out of a 90's chrysler cirrus/status/breeze...

could be
a bad o-ring on the rail letting pressurized fuel out
torn diaphragm on the FPR allowing fuel into the vacuum line
damaged connection from the fuel tank to the charcoal canister (vapor release)
damaged line from the charcoal canister to the intake (vapor burn-off)
among other things

had the same problem before in the past, ended up being the o- rings on the injectors. Just the first and third. When i started the jeep i noticed that something water liquid was leaking, checked it and found the problem. Replaced them all and haven't had a problem so far

Don't just change out the O-rings, if you're going that far into it I hope you are swapping out those injectors. As I already stated, the stock Renix injectors are fire hazards, and need to be replaced regardless.
