Howdy guys,

My 1990 XJ has seen better days, im currently stumped with a problem im having, for starters, when the engine turns over the fuel pump starts and then stops, and secondly im idling at about 1500(pretty sure its just a vacum leak which is no big deal).

Any Ideas on whats up with the pump?

 

Pump runs in 'start' but stops in 'on'? Check (or bypass) the ballast resistor. Might be something in the start relay over near the battery too, the FP is fed from it.

 

Here's a photo, and it's okay to jump/bypass it.

Pump wont run until motors running after initial primeing .
