Front sway bar bushings
Where would you guys suggest purchase the bushings for my front sway bar. 97 4wd. I want to replace all of them including both ends of the link arms. I have called a local parts store and I believe I must have been speaking a foreign language. I looked at rock auto and they have them in kits but there is about a dozendifferent kits. Which one is which? Lastly, is there anysimple way to tell the diameter of my sway bar short of a set of dial calipers?
BTW we are dealing with stock components here.

I just did mine. I used a dial caliper to figure out the diameter (which turned out to be 26 mm - I believe this is what came stock but you should verify it). I got my bushings from Autozone because they carry Energy Suspension components, which is top of the line polyurethane. They also make the end link bushings.

A 1997 XJ 4.0 liter should have a 26mm bar. If you have a Napa store locally, then you need (1) HB-1747 bushing kit and (1) 18162 link kit.

I got my at Advance Auto Parts. Amazon often has them a a competitive price I like Moog parts, top quality, and they make their own parts, not re-branded. Heres the online catalog ---> http://fme-cat.com/Application.aspx?...cat=Suspension

Moog makes good stuff too. When I looked at Energy's stuff, they didn't make a 26 mm sway bar bushing. I went with the next biggest size, which was 27 mm and it's still a very tight fit. Actually had to fight em for a while to get em in there perfectly

Thanks for all the info. I know I could count on CF.
Mjs302, That's exactly what I need. Gonna call the store in the am and hopefully have them on by the time I leave work. The kit you suggested included new links. Think I'm going with just the bushings though.

Upon closer inspection I noticed that both link arms seem to almost be bent where they meet the axle. The truck is on a lift so the suspension is stretched out. Is this how they normally sit or is it because the suspension is stretched or could something else be wrong?
