Default I swear I searched! (Rear Shock Bolts)

Okay so I know that i have heard mention of this before, but hopefully someone has a write up on easily getting the broken rear shock bolts out? I searched and can't find anything definitive, any help appreciated, thanks.

Have you ever seen these. I bought mine & PO had welded shocks on . Found on ebay a nice fix for reasonable price made really well IMO. No more rusted bolts.http://www.ebay.com/itm/JEEP-CHEROKE...item2c5f6eb7ff

Apparently you were searching another forum! Naw just jokin with you. I know the feeling of not being able to find something I know I have seen here before.
I didn't search to find you a thread but from what I have read seems the easiest thing it to take a hammer and hit whats left of the bolt and knock the welded nut loose on the backside. There is a small opening towards the center of the truck and slightly back that will give you limited access to retrieve the old nut. Then just fish a bolt back through it and put the nut on the shock. Make sure you place a lock washer on the bolt first that way you wont need a wrence to hold it. I think you may be able to reach it with a wrench anyway if you have to.

checked them out, and they are very cool, but working on stock height xj and no plans for a lift, so i wonder what having the strut compressed even more than normal at all times would do, plus the extra 65 bucks added to the bill, thanks for the heads up very cool!

After months here I finally figured out you can go to "writeup's " > "XJ" , then find stuff like this; https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/sw...utorial-99369/
(if you plan to "re-produce", do it before you go under a car on cinder-blocks, they crumble easily)

I just drilled out the hole and installed a nutsert, looked almost factory when I was done. When removing those top bolts, make sure the axle is not hanging and puting tension on the shocks. That will help keep them from breaking when removing them, unless they are all rusted to hell.
