Freeze Plug
I finally got around to banging this freeze plug in(the one in the bell housing)I sealed it with some Indian head and have the trans lined up and bolts finger tight but I am thinking of maybe pressure testing it first just to be sure before I bolt it all back together but the system wont be completely full of coolant to do the test because I cant start and burp it,do you guys think that will matter?I dont want to do this twice. Thanks as allways

I know this is an older post but I am fighting my freeze plugs also. Last night I begun round 3 of tearing my engine down to replace these since one I already did popped out while driving. I was wondering how you made out with replacing them.
Thanks
Thanks

It was a bear to do but they are doing fine.Get the brass plugs clean the hole really good with some sand paper.Coat the new plugs with Indian Head sealant and pound in flush.Pressure test it before you button everything back up.Good luck

Exactly what I planned on doing. Getting her done today. Thanks! Where did you get your brass freeze plugs? I got the kit on Amazon. Have any trouble getting them in?

AutoZone. No trouble getting them in just clean the hole really good and shiny.I had one that was really rusted and a couple pieces feel inside when I was getting it out but was easily fished out with a telescoping magnet.I just pounded em in flat using a block of wood and the Indian Head
