Found this in my differential housing?
I am taking this long weekend to install some KJ disc, bearing, seals and AC in my 99 XJ.
Broke open the dif housing (D35) and found this washer laying in the bottom. I did not notice if when I first opened it if it was laying there. I have the pin and bolt pulled but all gears are still intact so I am thinking it could not have fallen out anywhere.
I have had the Jeep for around 2 1/2 years, the fluid looked real good, still a lot of color and clear brown so I am wondering if it was left in when someone did a service before I bought it? Could it have lay in the bottom of the housing with out getting ground up?

Someone was in that axle before obviously, when they went to reinstall they rotated the spiders around and the washer didn't go along for the ride.

Only takes a second to reinstall.. rotate the spiders out, see which is missing.

That is cool, thank you.
So is the curve meant to push the spider gear towards the middle and keep the pressure on the C clip?
