I actually had no floors when I got the truck.

I cut the rust out with a $20 harbor freight angle grinder, and I welded new pans in with a harbor freight 90a welder.

Check my build, first few pages cover the work. Its really simple stuffs.

I simple parted out my rust bucket and hauled a southern jeep north. There are companies that sell floor pan replacements

This is what I did but I used a sheet of 18ga sheet metal instead of replacement pans.

So, many people thought that I was crazy when I bought my 90a welder and my $15 harbor freight grinder. But when my cheap tools kept working and there's died they were at my door asking to borrow them. Also It worked great when I rebuilt my 65 Chevy P/U.

I think I went with 16ga when I needes to make small patches. I wanted a bit thicker of a floor.

I have always said you cant go wrong with a $100 HF welder. I have used mine on plenty of projects.

Its not going to make a good bumper or cage or anything structural, but for the smaller things its not bad at all.

My wire feed control circuit board fried after I got my floors done. Called harbor freight and they are sending me one free of charge. Anyone do the cold tip mod? I'm thinking about it whenever I get it working again.
