Default Firing question. Please help

Helping a friend out here so bear with me, he has swapped a i6 from a grand Cherokee to an xj, I6 would start and run fine in the grand Cherokee. Did the swap and now the motor will turn over but no fire at all. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Something to check would be to ensure that the crankshaft position sensor (on bellhousing) is connected. Can be missed on a swap.

Without the input data from that sensor, you will have no spark and no fuel going TO the fuel injectors.

A 2000 XJ does not have a distributor, it does have a cam sensor instead.
