There is a user Cruiser54 who is really good with Jeeps about your time (known as the Renix Era)

As Cruiser54's unofficial photographer, I'm totally qualified to take a stab at this until he becomes available.
1.) In 1988 there were only three people in the whole of the world who had heard of a "CD" which means the one in your Jeep was likely installed some time after that. Did they use a harness adapter or did they just hack up the wires and stickytape the whole mess back together?
2.) You've got a lot of things going wrong there, more than just a fuse or two. Have a look at the back side of your fuse block. Is there water damage? Are the conductors corroded?
3.) Not that it will fix your particular problems, but refreshing your grounds and C101 connector are/is always a good idea on an '88 Renix (which is what you have).

Check the connections on the solenoid on the passenger inner fenderwell. They can jiggle loose and give u power to some stuff and not others. And since its an 88 check the c101 connector obove the brake booster it is a big issue with power delivery since everything runs through it. Cruiser54 has bad *** write ups on cleaning it. And check and redo all your grounds

I would check the fuse block (Driver's side footwell) for signs of water damage. I assume you've checked all the fuses. The botched wiring is a headache but with a little patience it can probably be resolved. Cruiser (and Flintstone) will probably have better suggestions when they wake up.

i got the c101 apart and most of the black crap out but still no go on anything. the power tranny is working again but nothing else. tested the power again it all has power just wont acknowledge and turn on. i also noticed that if i turn on the power to the tranny and push in the cigaret lighter it will kill the power, but i can wigle it and it will come back on.
LOL, CCKen is such a pessimist. No faith in man's ability to reverse engineer the unengineered
I think you can do it. Somewhere inside your dash is a mess. It may require you to start tracing but it's really not that difficult. Start with your cigarette lighter and trace it back to the fuse block. It's obviously crossed or tapped somewhere and causing a short to your TCU. Address one circuit at a time until they're all repaired. I find these tasks therapeutic but I'm weird.

This is very fixable.... just going to take some time... the 1st thing I would check Did you see if anything was melted or fuses blown? When you brought the Jeep was everything working? if so What event happened that caused everything to stop working? Did you change parts or add lights? or sink it in a flood?

Doesn't sound like you've resolved this problem do I'll chime in with my experience....I had the same exact issue as you got in Jeep one day and like 6-8 things just quit working.
so I did some searching on forum and found a thread on replacing ignition switch.went down and bought part and replaced it and all works now.believe part is less than 20 bucks.also check the two connectors you pull off of switch add one of mine was melted and had to replace plastic connector also.
Its mounted halfway down the column on the top side of the column.you will have to remove the lower dash panel and drop column to access it.
good luck
Tony

taro that is a common problem but his horn still works usually when that switch goes the horn stops working as well but it is worth checking out...
the ingntion switch is located on the top of the colum at the bottom...
I would make sure you do not have any wires touch by the radio...
