Honestly I hate the ignition switch. The cost to have a mechanic do it was well worth it compared to hunting down the parts and breaking my back laying in the floorboard.

You can go to the dealer for the other connecter.even if they don't know what it is they will pull up a parts diagram on screen and you can point out which one you need

Here in post#36 (third photo), it shows using cheap crimp/blade connectors. The plastic is gone/removed and they are soldered. The shrink wrap is slid up the wire before soldering, then back after to heat and shrink. http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showth...=102960&page=2

So the problem is solved i replaced the ignition switch and with some homemade connectors it all works again. Thank you everyone for your input.

A cool trick to remove the plastic from the cheap crimp connectors. Hold the PLASTIC part in your pliers, and put the metal to the heat. Once the metal is hot, it slips right out.

Nice glad to hear you got it fixed!
Another thing you might want to look at before it causes you problems like it did me is replace all your old plastic loom with some good quality heat resistant loom.
I learned the hard way up to crown king burnt up a section of harness that had three fuel sensors in it on trail had to floor it whole way home to keep from flooding. Just a suggestion.

You might have vacuum lines knocked off your "Vac Disco". It's on the rear of the axle tube just inside the right front wheel. The pair with the rubber connector slips of easy on mine...till I zip-tied it, (loosely)

If its your axle vacuum disco there are a couple things you can do to not have to worry about that stupid thing. Some cost money some are free.
I went the free route and just locked my front axle in full time. So the pass side axle is 100% engaged at all times then when i shift into 4 wd i know for certain i am in 4wd. and the vac lines will not fall off or rip apart on trail which is usually what happens when you lose 4wd on these disco equipped jeeps.
If thats what it is you can search in the xj write up section i believe theres a writeup on it there.
