Hello All.
First post, though I've been lurking for a while.
I recently bought a 99' Cherokee off my sister, and have been going through to tune it up; clean out some bugs. One bug was that the passenger window switches didn't work, and the driver window wont operate. So I took the driver's side switch assembly out to re-solder. This made it so that I the right side windows switches work. However, now the door lock only works to unlock, and the left rear window only goes down from either switch, and the right rear window only goes up from the right rear switch.
I checked the fuses, and cleaned all the switches in the drivers assembly with electrical cleaning spray. No luck!
I figure I either soldered too hot and hurt a nearby component (which I thought I was being careful of, but my soldering could be rusty).....or it's cursed!

It's probably easier and more effective to just replace that master switch unless the harness itself has been modified or damaged. It's
I'll have to check that, I replaced the switches with the part linked above. The passenger windows all work now. But, the doors still don't lock, so I need to search for that issue. Not many things I can think of that could cause it besides a hidden fuse, bad wire, or the passenger switch assembly.
Ok, I pulled the door lock fuse, and put it back in. Magic fix, must have been a bad contact. I will go through and check them all them all now. I guess having the fuse panel right by where people have their muddy shoes is not a great idea.
NOW.
Why are this Jeep's leaf springs rebound clips ZIP TIES. This has to be some woods fix my sister's friends did.
How do you even replace these?
