Doors Re-align?
I just bought my jeep and the doors have to be closed pretty hard but there is no pop when i open so it is not grinding on any metal so does it just need to be re-aligned and how could I do that? They open fine its just closing them that is harder than I want.

There are some shims under the hinges on the doors. Just go to the wrecking yard and get some more and loosen the hinge bolts up enough to slip one or two under the bottom hinge. Add them until it is straight and tighten the bolts.

Usually the bushings go bad & the door sags requiring it to be slammed. Grab the door edge when open & see if you can lift the door. If there is play the bushings will need to be changed. Parts shops carry the Dourman industry kit.

If I recall the kit is $20 a side, get a buddy to lift the door off with you as they are heavy. You will have to dremel the old pins off as they are mushroomed over @both top & bottom.

Use a 1/4" punch to get the hinges out. The drivers side you hit the hinge pins downward, the passenger side you beat them up. I used lots of pb blaster to help lube it up but they will come out.
